Cecilia Karoly-Lister

Bio

Cecilia Karoly-Lister is an interdisciplinary painter who was raised on Dena’ina land in Alaska by women and dogs. Her art explores the tanglings between narratives on home, queerness, nourishment, and consumption. As a practice, her work centers food, healing, land partnership, and community engagement. At the core of these engagements is a belief that art making can point to more creative and holistic solutions to the staggering inequities within our current global food system. Cecilia is excited to be a part of the Seeding the Future Food Systems Lab and looks forward to learning from the transdisciplinary approaches that collaborating with students from other departments will foster.
