Silvia Berciano Benitez

Silvia is a nutrition researcher passionate about food and creating pragmatic solutions to complex problems. Her research focuses on precision nutrition and the study of interactions between factors that influence human behavior and health outcomes. Prior to joining Tufts University and the Food & Nutrition Innovation Institute, she investigated the role of the gut microbiota and epigenetic mechanisms in metabolic responses to diet; helped develop Serenist, a multi-omic integration platform to optimize prenatal nutrition and reduce the risk of pregnancy complications, and co-founded Baravena Foods to bring to market better products that promote a more nutritious, sustainable and equitable future.
