Robin Shrestha

Bio

Dr. Robin Shrestha brings over 17 years of experience as a Medical Doctor and expert in food systems policy, research, and evaluation. He specializes in the design and implementation of large-scale global health, nutrition, and food security initiatives, with a strong focus on governance, applied research, and program impact. Robin has led multi-country research collaborations and developed innovative monitoring and evaluation frameworks that inform scalable, evidence-based food systems solutions. His expertise in translating complex science into actionable strategies has made him a trusted advisor in health and food systems governance. A recipient of the Tufts Food and Nutrition Entrepreneurship Competition (2018), he launched the Smart Bakery project in Nepal—an initiative that currently feeds 800 school children daily through a social enterprise model. He also co-owns a circular economy-based fruit processing venture that supports local agriculture and reduces loss and waste. Robin also serves as the Senior Advisor to the Nepal Food Scientists and Technologists Association (NEFOSTA), recognized for his national leadership in nutrition policy and food systems transformation.
